DOWN AND FEATHER EXPERTISE
Today the majority of pillow, bolster, and cushion inserts are machine filled with
blowers.
Often this tends to leave corners and ends lacking in sufficient fill.
In the Artisanaworks Workroom, each pillow form / pillow insert is stuffed by hand,
insuring a plump, well filled pillow with no voids in the corners.
Many pillows and cushions are made of sub-par ingredients, filled with anything from
polyester fibers to low-quality down and feather and "large, prickly" feathers
We use high quality grey duck feather, white goose down,
and white duck down; synthetic fills are not an option
Some manufacturers use dpt with a low thread count, and sewn with "galloping stitches"
which allow the fill to leak both through the weave and at the seams.
Our 220 count down proof ticking (dpt) sewn with 14-16 stitched per inch
insures a leak-proof pillow insert / pillow form
